We’re continuing our study through Daniel by beginning chapter 6.  However, before we begin this chapter there is one final note we need to discuss regarding the closing of chapter 5 and what this chapter pictures.  After that we will discuss the organizational structure of the Median Persian empire and how that relates to the church.

Israel’s 70-year period of captivity has almost reached its close and it’s time for Babylon to fall to the Medes and Persians.  How exactly did such a great kingdom and city fall in a single night?  The answer to that question is on our agenda for today as we close out chapter 5 of Daniel.

Today we’re covering a large chunk of chapter 5 with God writing on the wall for all to see.  These verses of scripture are loaded with biblical truths so open your Bibles and prepare to take notes. 

Today we conclude chapter 4 with an illustrative picture this chapter represents.  We then begin our chapter 5 study by discussing who Belshazzar is and how he fits into the Babylonian royal line.  We’ve got much to cover so open your Bibles and notebooks and let’s begin. 

Open your Bibles to Daniel 4 and Genesis 1.  Today we’re going to wrap up the second half of this great chapter and examine many cross-reference passages.  So, let’s continue our study of Daniel.

I love and appreciate listening to people’s testimonies.  Hearing what God has done for them and how He did it is one of the many pleasures of being a part of God’s church.  Sometimes those testimonies are both unusual and fascinating.  None more so than Nebuchadnezzar’s testimony, and that’s what we have in Daniel chapter 4.  So, open your Bibles and let’s study the word of God.

We conclude our chapter 3 study by examining the double miracle presented in the final verses.  Then we briefly discuss the prophetical picture this chapter presents … a prophetical view that is a small taste of the truths to come in the prophetical chapters of 7 – 12.  Open your Bibles and let’s continue our study together.

Time quickly escaped this episode’s lesson, so not many additional verses were covered in Daniel 3.  However, we managed to examine many cross references throughout God’s word to discuss several Bible truth’s relating to the events in this chapter.  What are these truths?  Stick around and open your Bibles to join those discussions.

After Nebuchadnezzar receives the dream’s interpretation from Daniel, he responds by promoting all four of the Jewish brethren (Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah) to positions of prominence within the Babylonian empire.  However, in the immediate chapter that follows, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah are condemned to a fiery furnace.  What transpires in just a few verses to require such action?  Open your Bibles and let’s find out.

Today we conclude our discussions of Nebuchadnezzar’s dream.  We have one final topic remaining and that is this stone that breaks the image.  So, open your Bibles to Daniel 2 and let’s begin.

Today we dive into Nebuchadnezzar’s dream and its interpretation.  This portion of scripture lays the framework for the prophetical truths we’ll later discuss throughout Daniel, and is the foundation for the whole book.  So, open your Bibles and prepare for a truck load of truths because these verses are loaded. 

We begin examining chapter 2, which is the prophetical foundation for the majority of Daniel.  Considering its importance, we will need several episodes to complete our discussions of this chapter, and this is the start to those discussions.  

We pick back up with chapter 1 of Daniel to conclude this chapter.  The stage is set and now Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah must make a choice to stand for God.  This requires humility and a very simple request on their part.  So, open to Daniel and let’s learn a little more about these four Hebrew brethren.

Dietary laws are the focus for today’s lesson.  Why was the king’s meat rejected by Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah?  Do such restrictions on food apply to the church?  Have restrictions ever applied to any peoples other than the Jews?  All these questions are on the agenda for today’s lesson.
