The Bible is the most fascinating book. Forty different penmen spanning centuries of time between their writings (words indeed inspired by God - 2 Timothy 3:16), and not one error or contradiction exists within its pages. The aim and goal of this podcast is to teach through that book, the Authorized King James Bible. Every word, chapter, line, precept, and verse: even the precise punctuation marks (jots and tittles - Matthew 5:18). We will not only examine each verse in the context of its chapter, but we will cross reference as many other passages as are necessary to provide commentary and contextual support for those verses of current study. Please, join me on this journey through God’s word in an effort to teach distinctly the word of God (Nehemiah 8:8).
This description of myself is intentionally kept short simply because the intent of this website, and associated podcast is not about me ... it's about Him: Jesus Christ, the savior of my soul.
I was born in April of 1987 (Julie in May of that same year), saved by the grace of God during my high school sophomore year in 2002, and graduated college from Appalachian State University with a degree in Mathematics in 2009; the same year Julie and I were married. Today we have four beautiful children: the oldest a boy (Cooper), two middle daughters (Ava & Laurel), and the youngest another boy (Beau).
Since 2009 I've preached in various churches, taught/preached through many books of the Bible to both adult and youth, written various articles/commentaries on God's word, and interim-pastored at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Salisbury, North Carolina in 2015. Volume upon volume could be written about all the marvelous things God has bestowed upon me and my life (John 21:25): the joy, peace, goodness, faith, grace, etc. that God freely gives is incalculable (not something a mathematician would generally say). I want others to know and experience God just as I have, and the only way for that to happen is to publicly tell it. In short, my desire is to teach and preach God's word. This site allows me to do just that and to hopefully reach generations, my age and younger, that spend so much intimate time with the internet and social media outlets. My prayer is that God would bless this effort, save those that are lost, and edify, exhort, and comfort those that believe in Jesus Christ upon listening to His word through this outreach.
Fundamentals of our faith in Jesus Christ
- We believe in the absolute authority and the literal interpretation of the holy scriptures found in the Authorized King James Bible. These words were given by inspiration of God and He has taken the responsibility upon Himself to preserve them without error since He first inspired men to record them. These incorruptible words cannot and will not pass away.
- We believe in one God who eternally exists as the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost.
- We believe God is the creator of all things visible and invisible, and He sustains all things by the word of His power.
- We believe the Lord Jesus Christ to be God manifest in the flesh, virgin born, without sin, crucified, and risen from the dead. He will eventually catch away His church, then return to this earth to establish His kingdom of heaven to rule for 1,000 glorious years.
- We believe salvation is available to all men. Salvation is solely and freely given by grace through faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross.
- We believe once a person is saved by the grace of Jesus Christ he or she is eternally secure in Him. Each saved individual is also sealed, taught, and comforted by the Holy Spirit until the day of redemption.
- We believe salvation immediately makes a person a member of the church, and it is their responsibility to gather together locally with other saved individuals where they may minister one to another using the gifts God has bestowed upon them.
- We believe anyone who rejects that Lord Jesus Christ will spend eternity in the conscious torment of a literal lake of fire, while those receiving the Lord Jesus Christ will spend eternity in God's glorious presence.
- We believe that water baptism is a public testimony made by the saved Christian and plays no part in salvation.
- We believe that the church is the body of which Jesus is the head. Thus, each local assembly should be governed, not by the will of the members, but temporally and spiritually in strict adherence to His word.
